More Toys!

The official BBC site and Outpost Gallifrey have reports on the next wave of toys coming from character options. Amidst the dizzying range of new action figures and toys that make me wish I was 10 so I could play with them instead of collect them, came this description:

March

TARDIS Electronic playset - £39.99

The TARDIS Electronic Playset features authentic light and sound effects and its console is a faithful reproduction of the one seen on screen. Its motorised ‘time column’ rises and falls (with lights) when the TARDIS is in ‘flight’ and it has ‘lift out’ access panels in the floor to reveal the mechanisms and circuitry hidden in the floor

I so want this. Sod adulthood. I’m spending the spring playing with my action figures in my TARDIS Electronic playset.

I was going to comment the other day about what great news this is, seeing how I can’t wait for some of these toys myself. But the thing that annoyed me…I say annoyed (past tense) was where the heck does anybody find these toys or collectables? But then the next day I walked into a local comic book store here in London…and finally!! They have the TARDIS bank!! I am so buying this! Now if they could only get the sonic screwdriver in stock…:)

Availability depends where you are. In the UK a lot of items should be fairly easy to find. In Canada we will not see a lot of this stuff until later in the year. When I was last in the UK in October I noticed that the new merchandise was far easier to find in regular stores (Debenhams, Toys’R'Us, etc) than in specialty SF/comic stores. BBC shops also have a pretty extensive selection of the new merchandise.

Hello from the past.  Thought I’d pipe in.  I recently rejoined DWIN after a ... hmmm… 18 year absence.  LOL

I now have an online store of collectible toys and such (ie, an easy way for me to get what I want and to then spread the obsession around.)  I just wanted to comment that we have a few of the DW stuff in stock right now.  (Sonic Screwdriver, LCD game, Bottle opener and Talking Bank).  We don’t have a lot of them but we do have a few.

I also wanted to ask how much are people willing to pay for a remote controlled dalek?  I think I can get some 12 inch ones but I think they’re kinda pricey so I’m not sure anybody would want them.  They’re really cool but still…  Any help would be appreciated.  (My cheap way of doing market research. hehe)
