The Embigafication of the Wee

Two fan websites have caught my eye as of late and both have taken something “small” and made it larger and quiet enjoyable.  tober.jpg
The CYBUSCORPORATION.COM  is a fictitious corporate site that heralds the coming of the new Cybermen in Series 2. They’ve basically taken the one existing image of the new Cybermen and created an entire site around it.  Sure it’s a nice image…  but these guys have really gone to town with it.  Very cool.  While KASTERBOROUS.COM have a much larger scope with news, reviews and articles on all things Doctor Who.  However I’d like to point out one particular article on Toberman as another example of how a fan has taken what might be considered a small secondary character from 1967 (...and a particular favourite of mine) and created something fresh, new, and damn funny.

Fans:  Glorifying the insignificant.

And by no means do I mean that as a slight.
In fact, I applaud it, as that’s where the most creative works sometimes stem.

Eeexcellent, as the Cyberleader would say.

Certainly that’s one thing that Doctor Who and the Sherlock Holmes canon have in common - within the creative cosmos, fans make whole mini-universes out of throwaway lines in a single story. Sometimes those sorts of homages are the best form of flattery.

Indeed. I’ve always thought that icons like Sherlock Holmes or james Bond are the best comparisons for Doctor Who rather than SF tv series. Doctor Who is not a part of a genre, Doctor Who is a genre! smile

I think that the new doctor who is a wonderfull actor.  he is allmost exactly like the other doctor who. He was wonderfull at saying “fantastic”  David was a great actor in Harry potter and was even better in this one (even though he was asleep a lot.)
This is a lot comeing from a 13 year old but I think the way you made the wall were the christmas tree broke in looked like the trees out line was humerous. Billie was amazing in season one and was womderfull in the christmas invation.
She plays the part of Rose Tyler magnificantly.
The way the costums on the aliens look so real you htink that there realy is aliens on another planet.
And to the rest of the cast, you know how to be a great help with the translating of the alien language to the getting ready to jump of the houses.I hope that doctor who will stay on for 15 more seasons
