I thought it was good. I thought that David Tennant was acting a lot like the Ninth Doctor in this brief segment.I look forward to seeing what the Tenth Doctor’s character is going to be like when he settles after the regeneration. I was kinda impressed that the Doctor could tell that he got a new mole without looking. I liked the moment when Rose was finally convinced that the Tenth Doctor and the Ninth Doctor is the same person. Can’t wait for Boxing Day!

I thought David Tennant was great - especially since I saw him as Barty Crouch in Harry Potter on the same day (very good in that too, although a small part).
I was disappointed that this was billed as a special “mini-adventure” when actually not much happened. Was this specially written for Children in Need (as advertised) or is this just the first 7 minutes of the Christmas episode?
If it is the beginning of Christmas episode, then it’s a great start and I’m looking forward to it. If it’s originally written for Children in Need - does that mean that we will miss out the regeneration scene at Christmas? I’d be disapppointed if that was the case.
It was far better than the previous Children in Need episode from a few years ago!

My question is how will you be able to go from “Parting” to “Christmas” without seeing this in-between segment that directly leads on fron the Series 1 finale if in fact this is not added on to the special?
Maybe it will be added at some future rebroadcasts?

Great little episode, very nice to see something ‘Cannon’instead of a spoof or sketch (as they traditionally have for CIN specials) Even better was seeing it at Bad Wolf one last Saturday, with a room full of fans. Mr.Tennant and Ms. Piper played brilliantly off one another, surely a sign of great things to come. To hell with Xmas….I can’t wait for boxing day!
PS: Thanks for making this new member feel welcome!

Frankly, I think if the Christmas Invasion opens with the TARDIS crash landing in London and the Doctor and Rose emerge with the Doctor acting erraticly, the plot will be fulfilled by a few choice pieces of dialogue. Look at the gap between the War Games and Spearhead from Space. Much is assumed in that gap, but nothing the imagination can’t fill in. Ditto, the beginning of Time and the Rani. Heck, Peter Davison might have recited Hamlet’s soliliquy by the time they started dragging him towards the Tardis.

It was terrific.
This was a special treat. I agree with Scott and don’t think there’s ever going to be any real need to have seen this to follow The Christmas Invasion.

I think that this CIN special will be the ‘teaser’ before the start credits of the Christmas Special. It just has that feel about it. Especially with the way it ends. It just makes sense to start with that kind of bang that will get you pumped through the opening credits.
Anyone else here see this special and suddenly think “It’s the Master! When he got thrown into the Eye of Harmony (Telefilm) he remained inside the TARDIS’s energy and because the Doctor had to absorb it the Master got into the Doctor!” It would be very cool if that were the case, but it probably isn’t.

I have to admit I’m disappointed that such a vital moment - the post-regeneration - has been effectively “wasted” (with no disrespect intended to anyone) for a charity special that no one outside Britain will see (yes I know it’s online but unless you have a Pentium V or whatever, it was pretty dodgy). From what I hear this special is not part of the Christmas Invasion, so unless they include it as a DVD bonus few of us will have actually learned what the Doctor said and did immediately after he regenerated (well, after “Barcelona!”).
All that said ... CBC is showing Christmas Invasion in a 90-minute time slot. Could it possibly be that the CBC will show the CiN segment? If they do, I hope they show it BEFORE the main event! Or better still, somehow integrate it into the special itself as some Canada-only edition.
Cheers!

Since I’m in Canada and have the slowest computer in the world (garage sale, $20 lol) I have no real way of seeing the CINS and it’s driving me nuts! If anyone knows of a transcript or could tell me what happened I’d be very very happy. Contact me at [email protected]. Thanks!!!
