Doctor Who Advent Calendar - Day 10
One of the finest columnists that came out of Enlightenment was Scott Clarke, who for 10 years provided some of the wittiest, most incisive commentary on Doctor Who in his “Wheezings and Groanings” column. (And yes, I would say that even if Scott wasn’t my best friend). There have been many who have lamented his passing from the world of Doctor Who. And if you haven’t, well, shame on you.
But Scott has kept busy. Throughout 2010 and 2011, Scott took heed of my blog entry about doing the pilgrimage and watching the Tom Baker episodes in order and decided to do it himself. And blog about it.
Only he did it way better than anyone else could have, tying his thoughts about rewatching Tom Baker’s stories with memoirs of growing up, discussions of the wine he consumed while rewatching these stories and some really insightful observations about the Hinchcliffe and Williams sub-eras along the way.
He suspended operations with just one story to go (Logopolis). I know he’s watched it. Maybe this will get him to write about it.
