DWIN and the Impossible Astronaut

Last night, several Doctor Who fans were fortunate enough to attend a screening of The Impossible Astronaut by SPACE in what happily turned out to be a plush private screening room tucked away beneath the Hazelton Hotel in Yorkville, and not, as the elevator seemed to indicate, its parking garage. InnerSPACE hosts Teddy Wilson and Ajay Fry kept the energy levels high throughout; Doctor Who writer and Friend Of The Blog Rob Shearman also attended and gave a brief interview before the show, and the hosts enhanced the prize giveaway at the end of the night by encouraging the audience to come up with their own trivia questions for each other. The screening even began with a specially filmed insert in which the stars of the series thanked us, the Canadian viewers of SPACE, for their support.

But of course, the highlight of the night was the screening of The Impossible Astronaut itself, about which I am morally obligated to say nothing except YOU MUST WATCH THIS. Not only does it set up what promises to be a fascinatingly complex story arc for the coming season, it does so with a scare factor that would cause a Weeping Angel to turn and run away in fear.

The current season of Doctor Who will begin airing on SPACE this coming Saturday, April 23, at 8:00 pm Eastern. Based on what we saw last night, it’s going to be a hell of a ride; and based on how it was presented to us, it couldn’t be in better hands. Since picking up the series, SPACE has hosted three screenings that I’ve been fortunate enough to attend, and I still find it difficult to believe just how much support they’re showing for the show and its fans. Check out their website, watch the premiere this Saturday, support our favourite show…

...and look behind you.

Ooooohhhhh!!!!!
I so love Dr Who but, last night’s programme was too confusing and just didnt make sense. I can always get something on shows that tease and dont give you the punch line but, this was just too way out and I so didnt enjoy it!! *Sob* I am really depressed now as I wanted it to be the highlight of Easter and it so wasnt. Lets pray the next episode delivers as Im devastated :o(
