Day and Date in Canada! Doctor Who Premieres on SPACE April 23rd
Canadians rejoice! SPACE has announced that Doctor Who will premiere in Canada the same day as the UK and the US - Saturday, April 23rd at 8 pm!
In fact, SPACE has the season premiere an hour earlier than BBC America, making Canada the first country outside of the UK to air the latest season.
The SPACE website has all the details, including details of a Who Marathon of the 2009 specials plus all of Series Five!
Let me repeat that: Doctor Who broadcast the same day in Canada as the UK. This is the best news ever.

Excellent news! But what about Episode 2, I wonder? We’re still hearing rumor that the BBC will air it on the 24th and I saw one news story that suggests BBC America may air both episodes back to back on the 23rd (giving them a one-day jump on BBC One). Will Space follow suit?

Whooo-ray! I was beginning to have doubts that we would get it the same day. Especially when I read somewhere that SPACE was going to air the new series “shortly after the UK broadcast”. I figured that meant for sure we would be a week or two later. But I guess they were quite literal when they said “Shortly after the UK broadcast”

@Doug I had been assuming the delay would be a few days as Space tends to fill its holiday weekends with marathons. For some reason it never occurred to me that they might do a DOCTOR WHO marathon!
