Who North Strong and Free

image

Radio Free Skaro is always essential podcast listening for the Doctor Who fan but for Canadian fans this week’s episode in particular is essential listening. There’s a great interview with Mark Askwith at Space where he talks about Space and the scheduling of the series. Mike Doran gives some great personal perspective and talks about organizing Who Party conventions and there’s an interview with some guy named Graeme Burk about the history of Doctor Who in Canada. Not sure who he is… (OK, it’s me. If I made any mistakes blame it on the fact that I was up until the wee small hours the night before).

Well worth your attention, even if you aren’t Canadian!

I haven’t listened to this particular episode yet but I do at some point catch each episode every week. For those who haven’t listened to radio Free Skaro yet, I highly recommend it.

Thanks for the heads-up.
I actually did go over for a listen. The interviews with both Graeme and Mark Askwith are interesting, but very long! (I haven’t yet listened beyond Graeme’s section).

I had been wondering how those involved in writing the Tardis files were going to cope this year, with (an anticipated) very short time between UK and Canadian broadcasts. It seems that a same-day broadcast also poses considerable problems for Space.

I also wonder if the New Series Guide mentioned by Graeme is a paper version of the Tardis files?

While I haven’t spoken to the other contributors yet, with day and date broadcasting (or near enough), we will likely do the TARDIS files a couple of days after broadcast, probably on the Tuesday or Wednesday following. Pretty much how we did it with this year’s Christmas special.

The new series guide, Who Is The Doctor, is a completely new and original book written by myself and Robert Smith? which is vastly different than the TARDIS files—it’s much more in-depth and looks at very different aspects.
