The (Roger) Waters of Mars set to air in Canada!
Just a heads up for those that haven’t heard - the next Doctor Who special, The Waters of Mars, is set to air on Sunday November 15th in the UK on BBC1, and will air in Canada on Saturday December 19th at 9pm on Space. Space is re-airing Planet of the Dead 24 hours earlier (so Friday December 18th at 9pm, and reports that the earlier airing of Planet of the Dead nearly got 500,000 viewers - some astonishingly good ratings for a Canadian cable channel in the middle of the summer! To put it in perspective, CBC’s ratings for Doctor Who often weren’t that much higher.

Not bad. Only a month after the UK. Shouldn’t be too hard to avoid spoilers for just a month. Let’s hope that we see the remainder 2 specials and series 5 juat as quickly too.

And you said that a ‘specialty’ channel wouldn’t be able to pull in the numbers that the CBC did…..
Here’s hoping that as Space is airing WOM the same time as the US, that they follow that trend with the final two (I believe BBC America has said they will be aired “over the holiday season”, so that might well be verrrrrry close to the UK air date!)
