Another excellent episode. Three in a row now!
With such quality, it’s extra sad the The Mirror took to the overnight ratings to proclaim doom and gloom and the scrapping of series 10. Sigh…

I agree - so far three really strong episodes from 3. Sadly the live ratings are getting almost as hammered by the RWC as England were by Australia - perhaps they will pick up now we are out. But, overall the ratings in the UK do seem to have dropped a bit since DoTD, even while they power ahead overseas. I know how we consume TV has changed - I doubt I will see a single episode live, but DW does seem to have plateaued and be less of an event here than it was. The BBC needs to nurture its top money spinner and not just with another spinoff. I’ve consistently enjoyed Moffats’s run, but this week’s episode was his 60th - the same total as RTD. Perhaps it’s time for renewal - that bloke Toby Whitehouse looks like a strong contender.

Couldn’t agree more Jon!
While I’m a big Moffat fan, you are right that it might be time for a change. A new voice, a new take can help revitalize. And Toby Whitehouse could be the one. Being Human may have been a bit uneven, but its highs were worth the price of admission. And The Game was outstanding.
I’ve noticed that a few outlets have picked up on the idea that a gap year might return some event status. But while that could be true, from a purely selfish standpoint I don’t want a gap
