SCI-FI AIRS DOCTOR WHO IN US
Hell apparently has frozen over. After allegedly passing on the new series last year, season one of the new series of Doctor Who begins will be broadcast on Sci-Fi Channel in March!
We residents of the (slightly warm) Great White North here at the Doctor Who Blog salute our neighbours to the south for finally getting Doctor Who. We hope you love it as much as we do. And it would be great if you could love it so much that it gets better ratings in its timeslot than Stargate does, it might send a message to Sci-Fi that they shouldn’t have passed on this brilliant series last year…
(Props to the Official BBC Site for the hilarious new splash page. Get it while you can.)

That’s great for them, but this also means that, here in Canada, we won’t get the first series’ DVD box set before next July, doesn’t it?

I wouldn’t say that. Amazon.ca is listing the set for preorder (for a February 14th release?). I would say it’s about a 50/50 shot either way… The news about the US DVD delay stated only U.S., not North America, and nothing about Canada. Although that’s not unusual. We’re used to being ignored.
Next time. We invade.

Remember 1812!
We burned that house and made them make it white! ( Though not I think in 1812.)
The sad thing is that this means that eventually the Tardis will touch down in America when it comes overseas and not in Canada.
They already got at least a couple of stories.
It’s our turn!

At lest the USA will hear what some English people sound like, ever since Mary Poppins and Buffy I’ve been pulling my hair out at films where us English sound like we have a stick up our arss or like we’ve hit our heads & can’t be understood.
But I just know theirs going to be some person who says “they don’t sound like that in real life, only on tv.”
Oh well,
Yxx
