Commentary On!
Have you ever wanted to be on a Doctor Who DVD commentary? Do you have burning questions about the Sylvester McCoy era of Doctor Who?
Well 2Entertain’s latest competition is for you. Record a question about either The Happiness Patrol, The Greatest Show In The Galaxy or Dragonfire, upload it to the Doctor Who DVD’s Soundcloud page and, if you’re selected they’ll put your question on the upcoming commentary recordings for these stories. Full information can be found here.
This is a brilliant idea for “crowdsourcing” material for commentaries, especially for an era which has tended to use the same personalities (McCoy, Aldred, Cartmel) again and again on the DVD commentaries. It might get the commentators to look at things slightly differently.
It’s a shame they didn’t do this sooner—the Davison era DVD commentaries really would have benefited by this!

This is a brilliant idea. I’ve also thought another way to change things up a bit would be to have people from the new series do commentary on some classic episodes like they did for The Five Doctors.

I agree that it’s too bad that something like this wasn’t come up with years ago. The commentaries are all pretty much recorded now.
