The Keeper Of Traken FC
The number one keeper for Traken FC, Melkur, has come under fire recently for possibly breaking intergalactic football regulations. The letter of the law dictates that “all goaltenders must wear gloves during matches”. When asked about this charge Melkur simply replied “I have no hands”. The front office of Traken FC say “they stand behind their keeper 100%, and are proud of the difficulties he has overcome to get to where he is today, and that’s where he’ll stay for the foreseeable future, IN NET.” . The Traken Union’s Football governing body (TUFA) issued a statement saying that “We will be looking into this matter”. Melkur is highly successful keeper and a favourite of Traken supporters who have dubbed him “The Statue” for his unusual stance the the ability to stare down his opponents. During a recent match Melkur had 4 men baring down on his net and he just stood there blocking the shot that could have knocked Traken FC out of their number one spot at the top of the table. Broton, striker for Zygon City, remarked that “it was the most amazing and fearful thing…taking a run at The Statue, in that match, was like running at a brick wall”. Traken FC, having since taken the Traken Union title, now face tougher intergalactic opposition as they begin their Galactic Champions League campaign. Having qualified for this tournament they face Real Skonnos, SC Kaled, and The Exxilon Dynamo in the so called group of death, Group F.
