The Doctor Who Blog would be remiss to not note one of the great fan achievements of 2009 happened in May: Rich Morris finally completed his online Doctor Who Comic, The Ten Doctors.

The Ten Doctors is a 274 page opus featuring all 10 Doctors, all the major (and several minor) monsters and villains, a boatload of companions in an epic adventure throughout all of space and time.

It’s greatest achievement is taking Doctor Who and its complex continuity and turning into a giant, full-scale, epic. No event, no matter how small or how obscure (it features Doctor 2.5 from the fan video Devious—soon to be appearing on the War Games DVD!) is weaved into events here—not in a clunky fanwanky way but as part of the overall story. If you made Lord of the Rings and used Doctor Who characters and events as its basis, it would come out something like this. It’s brilliant fun.

Plus, Rich draws wonderfully expressive cartoon versions of the TV characters and it’s worth reading just for that.

Apparently, Rich is going to be drawing another Doctor Who adventure in the future. I can’t wait!
