Part 1 had me a little worried - it was almost too much for a season opener. Too many surprises, too many plot threads, too much at stake, a clearly manipulative cliffhanger, etc.
But Part 2 rounded it out beautifully - rarely has there been a more satisfying conclusion to a story than this. The threads tie together; the characters have powerful moments together; and the cliffhanger that didn’t quite work a week before is suddenly re-evaluated and packs a whollop of an emotional punch.
And, not surprisingly, Missy continues to prove what a great Master she is, and what a great foil for the Doctor.
If this is a representative sample of what this season is going to offer, we’re going to be in for an amazing ride!
