“Tonight’s Show Is A Little Different…”
And as Craig Ferguson hoped at the time… the cold open from the Doctor Who night on The Late Show With Craig Ferguson, which had been cut due to music rights, has finally been leaked!
No wonder Craig Ferguson was pissed off it was cut. It’s a brilliant tribute to the series, and features (appropriately for Ferguson, who is the smartest talk show host on the planet) one of the brightest observations on the series: it reflects the triumph of intellect and romance over brute force and cynicism.

Yeah, this was very well done. I’m glad it’s shown up finally. I noticed that they did not use one of the BBC versions of the theme, but rather one of the remixes. I wonder if they’d might have been able to use it if they’d used one of the BBC TV versions?

It’s Orbital’s version of the theme. Whether that created another wrinkle in the music rights is possible, but the theme—which is expensive enough on its own—might have been a dealbreaker without Orbital getting into the mix.

Oh yes that was brilliant - very glad we’ve gotten the chance to see it!

Excellent. (Though I didn’t quite catch all the words)
More fun than the interview (which wasn’t bad). I can see why Ferguson was annoyed it couldn’t be broadcast.

Looks like it might have been taken down - I get an error message when I click on that link. :(

No Alex, it’s still up at YouTube and in fact I’ve just noticed that it’s been blogged by Andrew Sullivan at The Daily Dish. The number of hits is closing in on 100,000
