No News Is…No News

As we mention in this news item on the DWIN website, we’ve heard from sources within CBC Audience Relations that they presently have no information on if and when the CBC is airing series 4.

DWIN has been trying to ascertain what’s been going on with our sources within the CBC, but right now it seems that those who know aren’t telling and those who are telling don’t know.

The powers-that-be at the CBC might want to consider answering this question soon. Not only are fans inundating MotherCorp with queries, the Toronto Star’s DVD reviewer Marlene Arpe makes a potshot at CBC’s scheduling (or lack thereof) in her review of the Torchwood Series 1 DVD!

I’d say it’s still very much worth the effort of writing or phoning the CBC to let them know how much we’ve enjoyed their past broadcasts of Doctor Who and/or Torchwood and that we’re all eagerly awaiting the new seasons of these programs.

They even have a handy dandy form to make it easy. Scroll to the bottom of any CBC webpage and click “Contact Us”.

Cheers,
Mel

When I saw the credits for Voyage of the Damned and Torchwood Series 2, there’s no mention of the CBC. I guess their cooperation has ended or we don’t know if the Ceeb is still continuing.
I feel it could be bleek but let’s hope and pray that Doctor Who Series 4 and Torchwood Series 2 will eventually air on the Ceeb.
Let’s hope that Space (now part of CTVglobemedia) doesn’t snag the rights. I kind of have a hatred towards CTV right now. smile

Actually we know that CBC coproduced Torchwood Series 2. That was announced last year.  If the credit is missing from the new Torchwood episodes, that’s very curious.

Perhaps in the BBC broadcast they don’t display the CBC credit in the closing moments. Just wondering, perhaps they do. Can any one clarify?

i’ve seen dw episodes on canadian tv w/ no co-production credit, & on brit tv w/ co-pro credit.  go figure.

I agree with everyone else, and with the Toronto Star reviewer’s last few lines. I’d just love to know the discussions that go on in the CBC whereby we get the Martha Stewart show daily on CBC, and yet have to wait forever for Dr Who and Torchwood.
