Business development books and business consultants caution you not to take a step without goal setting. They tell you that goal setting is a vital undertaking for anyone who is serious about their business and that you need to have a clearly defined set of goals to ensure your success and without them you risk failure. Yet, according to my survey of small business owners, 87% do not use goals to ensure their business success! Why do so many smart people with excellent products and business potential avoid goal setting?
Set Time Limits. All things become possible if you give it enough time. What sets goals apart from wishes is that goals have a specific time limit. You need to have some short_term and some long_term goals. Where do you see yourself in 6 months? Where do you see yourself in 5 years? You need to ensure that your long_term and short_term goals gel. You can also break your long_term goals down into smaller goals and set time limits on achieving each step. This will increase your overall productivity as regards your goals. \"People with clear, written goals, accomplish far more in a shorter period of time than people without them could ever imagine.\"
